Undermain Theatre is a SPT (Small Professional Theatre) and TCG member regional theatre specializing in producing new and experimental plays for the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We are seeking an Assistant Stage Manager for the world premiere of Time in Kafka, written by the OBIE award winning and Emmy nominated Len Jenkin. Opening February 18th through March 17th, rehearsals beginning January 3rd. General Statement of Job Function: Assist and support the stage manager during both the rehearsal period and the performance run. The Assistant Stage Manager supervises the backstage area during performances. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: •Assist Stage Manager in creation of forms, lists, and rehearsal needs •During rehearsal: perform daily setup of rehearsal space, track props, create and distribute rehearsal reports and create daily calls •During performance: create, maintain and supervise preset of stage and scene changes, provide communication between SM in booth and backstage •Serve as Deck Manager for all technical rehearsals and performances •Maintain safe and clean workspace including rehearsal spaces, backstage area and stage management offices •Maintain smooth operation of productions during tech and performances •Attend meetings as needed Please send letters of interest and resumes to arianacook@undermain.org.

Dallas Children's Theater, one of the nation’s top theaters performing for youth and families, is currently seeking interns for its 2011 Teen Scene Festival. The Teen Scene Festival is comprised of four original dramatic works by DCT resident playwright Linda Daugherty and will be done in repertory style with over 35 performances in less than 3 weeks. Additionally, the festival will include two educational symposiums. The first symposium will focus on the issues tackled in the plays: eating disorders, dating violence, teen bullying, and learning differences. Major leaders in the medical and education world will facilitate. The second symposium will be based on creativity and will feature discussions with many top national theater professionals. Currently, internships and observer positions are available in the areas of stage management, directing, front of house, events, customer service, lighting, sound, production management, technical direction, and design. Internships will be between 4-6 weeks long ranging from January 10 – February 20. A weekly stipend will be paid. Applicants must have their own housing in the Dallas area and means of transportation.
